Project check-in...

This post is not a dramatic before and after.

It is an oh-crap-Im-halfway-done-and-I-dont-know-if-it-looks-good.

So I need your help.

Back story: I got this sewing table at the thrift about a year ago. It was shabby painted cream but was all dirty and had splatters of Lord knows what on it.
For the Glidden free paint sample I chose 'mint shake'. Maybe a mistake. I should've chosen 'antique white'. blah.

So, Monday night I got the itch to do something creative (and not clean the dust bunnies off the floor.haha) and I went downstairs and slapped a coat of paint on it.

I need your thoughts. It defiitely needs another coat or two, but is the color just gosh-awful?

The painting will be on top tilting against the wall.
Keep in mind, this is in our semi-finished basement-studio.

Here it is up close:

And a better idea of the true color (it was hard to capture!)

Another direction I could go is to paint a glossy white over top and distress a bit to have the green show through.

Seriously people...I need your thoughts.

  2. Yeah...my stupid camera phone doesn't take the best of pictures... and my 'real' camera won't link to my computer. Wah wah wah....

  3. I think it looks great. That's totally something I'd love in my own house. The only thing I'd do differently is the hardware. I either wouldn't have painted that or I'd just replace them.

  4. Haha....I got in trouble for painting them. They are fake and I couldn't figure out how to get them off! Plus they were nasty so I just painted over them. Whoops. I figure I can always still change them out if I can figure it out...

  6. Whitney- I think that's what I'm going to do. Though I'm not typically a 'shabby chic' kind of girl, the green really is just too intense. This way we'll still see a bit of it, but it will be MUCH more toned down. Glad you liked the idea!
